GRATEFUL FOR GONG TO YOGA

I am grateful to the Almighty because I practiced yoga yesterday.

The instructor spoke of "being at ease" with yourself.  That concept is so important to me because I am constantly striving, constantly judging myself and never cutting myself some slack.

I intend to begin to be at ease with myself today.

It is the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.  I will be going to services.  However there is no reason to place myself in the past and to begin to review the old stories.  I intend to enjoy the services and return home to walk and enjoy the rest of the day.

Last night I was reading the Gita for another course I'm taking.  It spoke of doing what is right and doing your best.  However it plainly said that you are not responsible for the consequences. That was important for me to read.  If things don't go as I wish I always blame myself.  It is time to stop that.

I am grateful that the Almighty sent me to yoga.  I have learned so much.

Thank you Almighty.

I am grateful.

GRATEFUL FOR MEDITATION

I am grateful to the Almighty because He has helped me learn how to meditate each and every morning.

That helps me get over my morning anxiety and misery and helps me to begin the day.

I am grateful to the Almighty for learning how to meditate.

Thank you.

GRATEFUL FOR A WONDERFUL WEEK

I am grateful to the Almighty for the wonderful week that I had.  As is my custom, I like to review the week on the Sabbath.

This week I visited my older daughter after her surgery.  The visit went well.  I did not invite either daughter for the Yom Kippur holy day.  They would not have wanted to observe it in the traditional way and that was their choice.  It was a very spiritual time for me.  I was able to stay at the synagogue and focus on prayer.  It culminated in break fast at the diner.   I went on to have my hair colored and cut and to have a manicure/pedicure at week's end.

I was also able to walk, to read, to practice my Mindful Meditation and to complete my chores.

Today is the Sabbath and I'm off to PJC to pray.  I will be able to walk and to read.  Tonight we will go out for dinner as tomorrow begins the holiday of Sukkoth.

Thank you Almighty for an amazing week.

I am grateful.

GRATEFUL FOR STRENGTH AND FORTITUDE

I am grateful to the Almighty because He has blessed my with strength and fortitude.

He has helped me to create new habits and behaviors which will serve me.

Yesterday was Yom Kippur.  I did not invite them as I asked if they would observe the way we did in my home and they wouldn't.  I told them that they could do it their way and they did.  This has been going on for a few years.

The day was very spiritual for me.  I spent it at PJC and break fast was at the dinner.

I was grateful to the Almighty because I have created a new habit and behavior.  The quiet and solitude of the day really allowed me to contemplate and to pray.

I prayed for a healthy and joyful new year for myself and my family.

I know that the Almighty will hear my prayers.

Thank you Almighty.

I am grateful.

GRATEFUL FOR GROWING

I am grateful to the Almighty for helping me to grow into the person I am.  My prayer is that He will always be by my side.

Tonight begins the Holy Day of Yom Kippur.  I pray that I will be healthy and happy in the coming year.   I wish the same for my family.

The Almighty has always been there for me.  I pray that He continues to be with me always.

Thank you Almighty.

I am grateful.

GRATEFUL FOR A NEW REALIZATION

I am grateful to the Almighty because He has helped me to realize something that I was not ready to see for a long time.

I now see him differently from the way that I defined the term "husband" and this has helped me to move on with my life.

I must now begin the process of letting go of the dreams of my children as they are not the people that I wanted them to be.  I need to begin to get rid of false dreams and illusions. I need to realize that I modeled appropriate behavior when it came to religion and family.  I did not give up.  It is time to give up the old dream of children.

It is now time to surrender.  It is time to accept.  It is time to acknowledge the facts.  It is time to accept that which I cannot change. It is time to accept that these are not the children that I wanted. This is not how I defined "children."  It is time to let go of that which doesn't serve me.  Slowly I know that this will make me a happier person.  I am happier now since I accepted who he was and moved on.

I know that the Almighty will help me to do this.

I am grateful.

Thank you.
